Icarex 35 CS
Looking into the past
Actually, I was looking for a string for my mum's guitar, but I found this nice thing: The old camera of my dad.
It is a Icarex 35 CS from the late 60s! Of course I did not want to miss the chance and the camera did not disappear in the old box again. Additionally with the camera, there are 3 lenses:
- Ultron 1.8/50mm
- Skoparex 3.4/35mm
- Super-Dynarex 4/135mm
Ok, what do I need now? A new battery and a new film. The Icarex uses a common 35mm film. It is interesting that there are still the analog 35mm films. I even bought a b/w film. The battery is a V625U coin cell.
Taking photos is a real adventure and fun! You have to do anything: Focus, aperture, time.
Of course, with a digital camera You can set all those parameters manually, too. But it is not possible to try something and check the result immediately! Sometimes I needed some minutes for one photo: First I set the focus with maximum aperture. Then I set time and aperture. At least, the camera has an electrical light meter. So it's possible to get the right exposure for the photos.
