Pinhole Lens

Back to the roots

A long time ago I watched a documentation about the Camera Obscura on TV. Now I finally realized a pinhole lens for DSLR!

The construction

The main part is an empty cough sweet box. I cut the bottom and pierced a hole with a needle (It seems to be smaller than ~1 mm). This sheet (with a little +/+ tolerance) gets pressed into my reversing ring carefully.

That's it. On diyphotography.net [1] is a detailed instruction.

How to take a photo

Pinhole Lens - Our Valley

Well, You do not see anything trough the viewfinder. The hole seems to be really small! The exposure time varies between less than one second and more than 1 minute.

The results

On the right You see a photo taken with this construction. A part of our valley. The exposure time was 0.5 seconds. The photos will be more sharp if the hole is smaller.
